THE SUMMER OF JAWS

“You yell ‘shark,’ we've got a panic on our hands the whole summer!”

As Martha’s Vineyard marks 50 years since Jaws first sank its teeth into the box office, Circuit Arts is your go-to for every way to experience the classic this summer—on the big screen, at the Vineyard’s Drive-In at the YMCA, live on stage, and even with a full symphony orchestra bringing the score to life.

Whether it’s film or footlights, we’ll steer you right...no chum required.

  • JAWS @ 50: THE DEFINITIVE INSIDE STORY at the Martha's Vineyard Performing Arts Center

    June 20 | 4:30 PM

Preceded by an introduction from executive producer Justin Falvey and producer, renowned ocean conservation advocate, and film subject Wendy Benchley

This hotly awaited new documentary was expressly made by director Steven Spielberg’s own production company, Amblin Entertainment, and National Geographic, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the release of Jaws. Featuring rare archival footage and directed by Laurent Bouzereau, who has also made an award-winning documentary about Jaws composer John Williams, the film explores the chaotic production on Martha’s Vineyard, the origins of the novel adapted for the screen, and the cultural obsession both birthed. With insights from cast, crew, and ocean advocate Wendy Benchley, wife of the late Jaws writer Peter Benchley, this film dives into the enduring appeal of Spielberg’s now-classic thriller, its legacy, and its surprising impact on shark fascination and marine conservation.
