The Circuit Arts Team

Brian grew up on Martha's Vineyard, where he first became passionate about the arts. After studying at Boston University's College of Fine Art, he moved to Chicago where he worked in nonprofit management and formed a production company with which he produced and wrote a nationally distributed feature film and award-winning shorts and documentaries. He moved back to the Vineyard in 2007 and shortly after found a happy home at the Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival. He worked for over a decade as the Managing Director and Programming Director before being appointed Executive Director in 2021. He oversaw the formation of the umbrella organization Circuit Arts and the renovation of the historic theater at the Grange Hall. During his 15 years at the company, he has also overseen the addition of educational programs, the Vineyard’s Drive-In at the YMCA, and Circuit Films.

Kelly holds a dual BS in Philosophy and German Studies from Assumption University. After moving to Martha’s Vineyard in 2013, she spent several years bartending and working as an office manager for a local jeweler before launching an independent consulting business in 2020. Her work centers on keeping complex systems running smoothly, supporting small businesses with operations, event production, and administrative systems. She joined Circuit Arts in 2022 and is currently serving as Treasurer of the Martha’s Vineyard Cultural Council. In 2024, she completed her Certificate in Social Impact Management and Leadership through the Institute for Nonprofit Practice. Outside of work, she knits, paints, cooks, lifts weights, and enjoys any excuse to gather around a shared meal.

Ollie, a Martha’s Vineyard native, discovered his passion for creative writing while attending the West Tisbury School and MVRHS. After he graduated from Bard College in 2008, his interests expanded to filmmaking, leading him to spend nine years in Los Angeles writing and producing unscripted series for CBS, History, and Discovery. With over 200 hours of original content to his name—rising from associate producer to showrunner—he returned to the Island in 2018. Now, he's excited to craft compelling stories that celebrate the people and places of this unique community.

Tim is a camera operator and director of photography with nearly two decades of experience in visual media. From capturing Olympic moments around the world to documenting Venezuelan migrants here on the Island, Tim has worked in productions ranging from live network broadcasts to advertising to independent film. Behind the camera now, he did start out as an NPR intern and has an enduring love for public radio. When not chasing the shot, he's trying to keep up with his two grade-school children. Tim attended Colby College and the CUNY School of Journalism.

Danielle is a multidisciplinary filmmaker and designer with an extensive documentary and creative catalog. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, with a BFA, double major in film and illustration. She is currently the Creative Director at Circuit Arts and a filmmaker with Circuit Films. An accomplished solo videographer and director, she has collaborated with a variety of artists and nonprofits, highlighting video animations, and video projection installations. Her works have been presented in a variety of events and venues, with recent works most notably featured at Mass MoCA and The Guggenheim. Danielle is an experienced editorial illustrator and graphic designer, and when she isn’t working for Circuit Arts she is busy with painting, designing textiles and curating work for her small business dedicated to preserving old art forms called, Archil Designs.

Bella is a Martha’s Vineyard native with a diverse background spanning arts coordination and media relations. Before joining the Circuit Arts team, she assisted in managing gallery exhibitions and promoting local events at Featherstone Center for the Arts. She has also worked as an executive assistant to high-level editors at HuffPost and BuzzFeed News, and at The Root, where she worked as a freelance journalist, writing about literature, film, fashion, and music. Growing up on Martha's Vineyard, with two artist parents, Bella developed a love for reading and writing, which is why you can find her with her nose buried in a book at any given moment of the day.

Simone is a recent graduate of the University of Connecticut, where she earned a degree in communications, with minors in dramatic arts and English. Born and raised on the Vineyard, she discovered a love for the arts at the Oak Bluffs School and later developed it further at MVRHS, as a Minnesinger, musical cast member, and state-award-winning photographer. At UConn, she worked with the UCTV Advertising department, creating promotional content through filming, interviewing, and editing. She also served on the executive board of a student-run theater club. Simone is happy to be back home post-graduation, sharing her enthusiasm for storytelling and creativity with the community.

Brooke is an accomplished actress, director, producer, and theater educator. She has been a resident company member of Boston's award-winning Actors' Shakespeare Project since 2012, with standout roles in Othello, Cymbeline, As You Like It, and Much Ado About Nothing. In 2023, she received an Elliot Norton Award nomination for directing As You Like It. She has also directed and performed at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse, and co-founded Vineyard Arts Project's New Writers/New Plays Festival, where she helped develop works like Disgraced and The Old Man and the Old Moon. Since 2014, she has directed the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School’s theater program. Proud mom to Isla and Owen, Brooke is delighted to share life and work with her partner, Brian.

Minah is a producer and filmmaker who tells stories across various media. She was previously associate director of the Martha's Vineyard Film Society (MVFS), where she developed and programmed the first Women in Film festival, in addition to programming for young audiences. She has worked with MIT’s Open Documentary Lab to empower graduate students, technologists, scientists, and others to explore new documentary forms focused on collaborative, interactive, and immersive storytelling. Prior to that, she co-founded and led WorleyWorks, a Brooklyn post-production studio which focused on making cutting-edge post-production technology accessible to independent filmmakers. As an executive producer of films, she has premiered work at Sundance, Tribeca, Cannes, Toronto, and other film festivals. She and her two children moved to Martha's Vineyard full time in the fall of 2016, and in 2021 she was awarded a Warner Bros. Discovery 150 fellowship to direct her first feature documentary.

Carl’s skill set is varied and invaluable, with a depth of experience that belies his age. Beginning as a road and production manager for the Blues Brothers Revue, right out of high school, Carl spent the next eight years on tour across the United States, assisting as an electrician and stagehand for IATSE and NETworks Presentations. Locally, he runs Gosselin Electric with his father, and can be found lending his talents to the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center when not helping Circuit Arts with all of its production needs.

Emily is a producer and arts professional with over a decade of experience in film, theatre, and community-based creative work. Before joining Circuit Arts as Production Manager, Emily worked as an Associate Producer on major film projects in Los Angeles and has collaborated with teams across a wide range of disciplines. She is also the owner of Strong Martha, a community-focused boxing gym on Martha’s Vineyard dedicated to empowering clients of all ages and abilities. Emily brings a passion for storytelling, collaboration, and building meaningful creative environments to her role at Circuit Arts.

Shelagh has been a beloved presence in the Martha’s Vineyard arts community for decades, performing as an actress, singer, and comedian in various improv groups. She taught and directed at Island Theatre Workshop alongside Lee Fierro and Mary Payne, and for over a decade directed school productions at the Oak Bluffs School. A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and a former student of the Stella Adler Conservatory and National Shakespeare Conservatory, Shelagh brings deep theatrical training and a lifelong passion for performance and education.

Anne is a film projectionist and maven—familiar with essentially every film you've ever or never heard of. For many years, she was the owner of Island Entertainment, Martha’s Vineyard’s first video and DVD store. She now manages the movie theater in Edgartown. Beyond a passion for cinema, Anne walks dogs and is the proud mother of Peter.

Lilian is a Vineyard native; graduate of the Tisbury School, MVRHS, and Bard College; an ALDHA-West Triple Crowner; and a member of the Tisbury Conservation Commission and Island Community Chorus. She has been editing for the Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival since 2007, and now also edits for all of Circuit Arts’ other endeavors.
