The Grange Hall, West Tisbury

Followed by a discussion with director Lucy Walker

Lhakpa Sherpa was the first Nepali woman to summit Mount Everest and survive—despite having been denied an education and having to conceal her gender in order to work in the mountains. She’s since climbed to the top of the world’s highest mountain nine times. Now a 48-year-old single mom working at a Whole Foods in Connecticut, she heads back for another record-setting attempt, with the hope of making a better life for her two daughters. Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning director Lucy Walker (Waste Land, The Crash Reel) follows, capturing the truly incredible life and indomitable spirit of this trailblazing adventurer.
