Circuit Arts’ 25th-Anniversary Celebration Presents...

ROOM TO MOVE

Friday, August 8 | 7:30 PM
The Grange Hall, West Tisbury

Dir. Alexander Hammer | Documentary | U.S.A. | 2025 | 1 hr. 50 min.

Followed by a discussion with executive producers Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer, director Alexander Hammer, and film subject Jenn Freeman

Deeply personal and visually captivating, this documentary follows choreographer, performer, and educator Jenn Freeman as she creates her first evening-length solo work while processing a late-in-life diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. As she mines her childhood and confronts a major life transition, she begins to unearth the memories, sensations, and patterns that have shaped her, using dance as a language to make sense of a world that has never felt quite in sync. What starts as a portrait of an artist gradually unfolds into a more intimate exploration—a reflection on identity, expression, and the quest for clarity amid the noise of life. More than a dance documentary, this is a groundbreaking portrait of neurodivergence, self-discovery, and the quiet strength of naming your truth.
