Launched in 1983, the PBS children's television show Reading Rainbow became a broadcast blockbuster, classroom staple, and beloved cultural touchstone during its 26-year run. This heartfelt documentary reveals how the show fostered a love of reading and learning in generations of young viewers. Through archival footage, behind-the-scenes insights, and interviews with its creators, its charismatic host and executive producer LeVar Burton, guest stars such as Whoopi Goldberg, and former book-review kids, the film celebrates the show's innovative approach to education and the enduring magic of storytelling. It has won ten awards at film festivals in the U.S. and Canada.
