MARTHA’S VINEYARD
FILM ICON AWARD DINNER

honoring DAWN PORTER

Saturday, July 20, at 6:30 PM
The Grange Hall, West Tisbury

Join us for a special evening celebrating the outstanding work of Dawn Porter. We are honored to present her with Circuit Arts’ first Martha’s Vineyard Film Icon Award in recognition of her career as a film director and producer.

This year’s music documentary Luther: Never Too Much was her tenth film screened at our Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival or summer film series over the last decade. Her award-winning films have covered a range of subjects—from the work of public defenders (Gideon’s Army) to civil and reproductive rights (Rise Again: Tulsa and the Red Summer and Trapped), to major American figures like Representative John Lewis, First Lady “Lady Bird” Johnson, business executive and civil rights attorney Vernon Jordan, and singer, songwriter, and record producer Luther Vandross.

The award presentation, and a screening of clips from Ms. Porter’s films, will be joined by journalist Michele Norris and publisher Dawn Davis, and followed by a dinner catered by chef Nina Levin. Tickets for this exclusive event are $375 each.
