MY OLD ASS

The summer before college, as she prepares to leave her childhood home on a cranberry farm in Ontario, bright, irreverent Elliott (Maisy Stella) encounters her 39-year-old self (Aubrey Plaza) during a ‘shroom trip. “Avoid anyone named Chad,” the latter advises. And: “Don’t fall in love.” Easier said than done. Blending sass, self-assuredness, and sardonic humor, this coming-of-age film evokes nostalgia for days yet to end, and is at once a sweet love story, contemporary comedy, and quirky riff on time travel.
